As the IT of the REWE Group Austria, we work together with our more than 500 employees to develop innovative IT products and services for all our corporate divisions in Austria and abroad, setting the tone for modern trade. In the team Central User Experience part of the Technology cluster, we are familiar with development and optimization of our internal systems at REWE International AG. The areas of responsibility are diverse, inventory management, logistics, product data management, employee data management for all these areas and more, we build user-centered applications, lead workshops, examine and research prototypes and ensure user and stakeholder-oriented communication for an ideal user experience in product development at REWE Systems. 

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our Design System leadership, shaping REWE's Design Systems vision and strategic  goals for consistent user experiences across all products and platforms. You'll champion best-in-class Design Systems,  staying updated on industry trends and evolving technologies. Your key responsibilities include translating business and  user needs into clear UX standards and guidelines, fostering collaboration within cross-functional teams, and mentoring UX  designers to cultivate an innovative design culture

Job Description
  • Collaborating across teams and functions, articulating guidelines for REWE's Design Systems, and communicating with  engineers on "front-end" topics.
  • Designing components and patterns with consideration for accessibility, responsiveness, and usability best practices
  • Managing the maintenance and delivery of Figma REWE Design Systems UI-Kits, including onboarding and training  programs.
  • Responsible for the release management of our Figma UI kits, maintaining changelogs and communicating release  notes.
  • Providing support to product designers and front-end engineers, answering questions and guiding UI/UX decisions.
  • Contributing to the expansion and optimization of Figma design libraries and advocating for holistic UI/UX patterns  across REWE's product range.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (developers, analysts, and business stakeholders) through collaborative workshops to  brainstorm, define, and develop new complex components and patterns for our design system.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in user-centric product development, including UX/UI Design and Design System usage or  development.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data and deriving actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management and conducting effective requirement-gathering interviews.
  • Experience with information architecture design and implementing Omni-Channel strategies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, particularly (ÖN) ISO 9241-171 and WZG.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment; fluency in  English and German preferred.
  • Enough programming knowledge to actively participate in code reviews of components and patterns.
  • Experience documenting components, patterns, and guidelines within a design system.
